A little thing that really bothers me: rejection.

Trying to stay hopeful. It’s hard to be thirty at heart with a 50+ body style and look. Without much experience in the workforce, I find it difficult to start at the beginning…again. However, I hope for the best; then, I mail out another resume.
Jo Dees There is just the right job out there for you – just be patient and it will come.
On any given day, I can be found drinking coffee in my favorite shops while people-watching in Kalispell, Montana. However, the art of writing is first in a line of my many interests. My genres of choice are poetry and short fiction. I also enjoy hiking, biking, watching movies and the occasional game night with friends. “Interneting” and “facebooking” with long distance internet “sisters” and family are activities that I also find enjoyable.
My current writing goals include a compilation of an anthology of poetry and short stories entitled “Twice the Tornado”, plus a historical fictional novel based on the life of a Bitterroot Valley, Montana pioneer woman.
Currently, living in the Flathead Valley of Montana, I am in a close relationship with my best friend and help care for our family of four dogs and two cats. Surrounded by rivers, trees and mountains, I find plenty of inspiration for writing topics. Living in close proximity to Glacier National Park, I am able to form interesting characters from the many tourists passing through. I guess I could say that I have chosen the perfect time and place to return to my writing career.

Ouch only stings for a moment, then we pick up ourselves up and move forward. At 50+ we may have the heart of a 30-year-old, but along with our wrinkles we’ve acquired wisdom and the understanding that patience will bring more satisfying rewards. Sometimes, the right fit in a job isn’t what we expect. So remember, it’s not really beginning again, it’s starting a new and exciting chapter.
At 50+, supportive and logical friends help the dusting off process seem less traumatic. A word of kindness is a band aid to the ego.
